Former mexican Miss Universe Ximena
Navarrete unveiled her replica at a special ceremony held in the Wax
Museum in Mexico City. The wax figure had a cost of more than 300,000 Mexican
pesos (about USD 25,000).
The impressive replica will be exhibited in this
museum, putting an end to a detailed work that lasted about six months. It is
wearing the elegant red gown designed by Benito Santos, which Navarrete was
wearing when she won the international crown in Las Vegas two years ago.
Navarrete commented “it is a great work. I never
thought I would have a replica of myself in this museum”.
Mauricio Rabner, director of the museum,
commented that it was the visitors who decided Navarrete should have a wax
replica through a series of polls.
In order to create this wax figure, Navarrete had
to participate in a photo session that took about four hours and 200 images.
