25-year old Carola Duran Baldera was crowned Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2012 during the annual event held at the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo on April 17th.
Carola, who competed as Miss La Vega, stands 182 cm in height and will represent the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 2012 competition in December. She competed in the Tourism Queen International 2011 pageant.
The 1st runner-up was Miss Distrito Nacional, Dulcita Leggi, who will travel to Ecuador to Miss Continente Americano; and the 2nd runner-up was Miss Santiago, Carolyn Hawa, who will travel to Bolivia to the Reina Hispanoamericana competition. Peravia and San Jose de Ocoa completed the top 5.
Miss Universe Leila Lopes was guest of honor at the event, televised live on Antena Latina.
